Find the sources behind the answer.

AI does not recommend brands out of nowhere. It reads pages, publishers, communities, marketplaces and other sources. Source Intelligence shows you which sources shape your category, where your competitors are getting cited, and where you are missing.

Sources AI trusts

Know what each AI platform actually reads.

AI platforms do not rely on the same sources. Source Intelligence shows the mix of sites AI cites in your category, broken down by platform, so you know where your visibility is coming from and where it is missing.

What that means
  • See the source mix by platform. Know how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and the other platforms differ. One average across all of them hides the thing you would act on.
  • See your share of citations. Know how much of the source landscape belongs to you, versus your competitors and third parties.
  • Find the sources carrying the category. See which sites contribute the most citations on each platform.

Top sites and pages

See the pages AI cites, and what to publish next.

Go from domain-level trends to the exact pages AI cites. See each page's citation share, content format, competitor presence and week-on-week movement, so you know what content and placements are worth pursuing.

What that means
  • Find competitor gaps. One switch shows you only the pages citing a competitor that have never cited you.
  • See the format that wins. Every page tells you its format, so you can see whether AI prefers reviews, comparisons, product pages, listicles or editorial.
  • Track movement. You see which sources gained or lost citation share since last week.

Sources backing your competitors

See what is getting your competitors into the answer.

See which sources are behind every competitor's AI visibility. Know whether a rival is carried by its own content, publishers, marketplaces, communities or other sources, and where you are absent.

What that means
  • Compare the same source mix. See how every competitor's visibility is built. You are counted the same way as every rival on the card, so the comparison holds.
  • See the evidence behind the mention. A source counts on a card only when the page itself names that brand.
  • Find your competitive gaps. Identify sources where competitors appear and you do not. These cards count only answers that named a brand, so their percentages do not compare with the citation mix above.

Citation gaps worth closing

Find the sources your competitors have, and you do not.

Cited shows you the sources behind the answers that name your competitors. Filter by platform, page and source type to find the exact places where your brand is missing.

What that means
  • See who gets named. Every row tells you which brand the answer actually named, you or a rival, so you can compare your presence with each competitor.
  • Know what kind of source it is. Every row is classified: Owned, Competitor, Potential competitor, Channel, Earned Media, Aggregator, Community or Other.
  • Turn gaps into targets. Export the view as a CSV that records the competitor, scope and date range, and give your team a specific source or page to pursue.

Does Source Intelligence show me the full AI answer?

Source Intelligence is built from the sources an AI answer cites and the brands it names, not from the wording of the answer. The full response is stored with your tracked prompts and competitors, so you can open the response and see where each citation came from.

How does Cited classify sources?

On two axes. The first is what kind of site it is, so a marketplace is never counted as a news site. The second is the role it plays for you: Owned, Competitor, Potential competitor, Channel, Earned Media, Aggregator, Community or Other. That lets you compare not just which sources AI cites, but what part those sources play in your category.

Does Source Intelligence measure AI referral traffic?

No. It measures the sources AI cites in answers. It is built to explain what is influencing your AI visibility, not to replace traffic analytics. A citation is not a click, so read this beside your analytics rather than instead of it. Traffic and referral measurement is a separate layer of the platform.

Does Cited score individual sources?

No. Source Intelligence works in citation share, platform coverage, competitor presence, source type and movement rather than collapsing a source into one generic number. The point is to show which sources matter and which gaps are worth acting on. The ranked work, with a named page and a written brief on each task, is the Task Operating System.

Which AI platforms does Source Intelligence cover?

Starter and Pro read ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity. Scale adds Gemini and Google AI Mode, for five. Enterprise adds Claude and Grok. Every mix, table and drawer here reads one platform at a time, or all of them together.

Your AI visibility is built on more than your website.

Your site is only one part of the picture. AI can draw from publishers, communities, marketplaces, reviews, creators and competitor pages. Source Intelligence shows you which sources matter in your category, and where your brand needs to appear next.
